The V-weights

Like many twinset divers, I keep my lead spread around. The majority of it is made up of my backplate, my P-weight, and my V-weights.

The V-weights I use are a little different from the norm. They aren't V-shaped, they don't fit between my cylinders and my backplate, and I use either one or three of them depending on whether I'm in salt of fresh water.

They're actually lead bars, roughly 4x2x18cm.

There's a hole a little off-center, made out of a few bits of copper plumbing stuff.

They sit between my cylinders, and the bolt from the P-weight goes through the hole in the V-weights.

The bolt looks a little over-sized when only one weight is in place, but it's necessary to make it long enough for when all three are in use.

Unlike traditional V-weights, which are held pinned between the backplate and cylinders, mine are kept in place by a wing nut.
